Colonial wins a Digital Innovation Award in Spain thanks to its Smart Building System software

The new Colonial’s Smart Building System software has been acknowledged as one of the three winners in the Digital Innovation area of the Netexplo Innovation Awards in Spain. These awards, that this year are celebrating its 2nd edition, are organized by the French trend Observatory Netexplo and identify corporate innovative initiatives that foster digital transformation in different industries.

The Smart Building System is an application fully developed by Colonial that adapts to any electronic device. It is aimed to effectively manage and monitor, in a fast and smart way, different elements of a building such as conditioning, air quality, lighting or consumption, among others, always willing to increase comfort and wellness at the office. The final result is a tool that provides a complete technical Big Data of the building to immediately detect the improvements that should be done to reach the users’ wellbeing.

This software represents an opportunity to generate value to the real estate sector and it benefits in an innovative, efficient and fast way the employees of the companies located in the buildings where it is used. The Smart Building System was created in January 2017 and it is expected to be operative in the whole Colonial’s Madrid and Barcelona portfolio by 2019.

With this award, Netexplo acknowledges Colonial’s Proptech initiative and its capacity to attract investment. The impact of technology and digitalization in the development of services and new business models is considered one of the main vectors for economic growth in the real estate sector.
